Terra Nitrogen's blast


The HSE has traced the cause of the explosion at Terra Nitrogen's Billingham plant in Cleveland last June to high-pressure gas escaping from damaged pipework, which ignited. The investigation at the ammonia plant has found the escape was traceable to the failure of a joint on a release valve. The HSE's investigation continues.
